Rich
Coon of Norfolk, Va.
Rich originally was
born in the Philippines, but came to the United States at
the ripe age of 4. He has blessed this country with his
residency in Florida, California and now Virginia.
We interviewed Rich to
get to know him better, and here's what he said:
How
long have you been dancing salsa?
Danced On1 for about for about a year and two months and On2
for about 7 months. I am strictly an On2 dancer now!
Why do you say strictly On 2 now?
I like dancing On2 better because my instructor has given me
a better understanding and foundation of how to dance versus
my On1 dance instructor.
Who has been the most influential instructor?
Marquita Bianca. She is overall an awesome person. She
goes out of her way to please her students and makes sure
they become the best dancers they can be.
What peaked your interest to learn to salsa dance?
The women, of course!
What do you do for a living?
Besides being a pimp? I am part business owner and
General Manager of the aftermarket side of Tidewater Auto
Electric. We can do anything you have seen on the show Pimp
My Ride. We are located at
5192 Virginia Beach Blvd
- 499-3131.
What do you like most about salsa dancing?
You are always a student and you can always learn something
new regardless of how long you do it. I have a short
attention span so this is beneficial for me!
Where has been your most favorite place to dance (local,
regionally, nationally, etc.)? Club Sevens on Thursday
nights, Magic Moments and Central 111 on Tuesday nights
because all my friends go there and you will always find a
woman that can dance!
What advise would you give to a new dancer to the salsa
scene?
Don't quit. Some people learn faster than others, so
don't get discouraged. You will get in what you put in, so
bust your ass on the dance floor and you will become a good
dancer!
Tell us one thing that no one knows about you.
I am an alien and I am planning a hostile takeover.
