| Virgil Lipumano
A current resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia has been dancing salsa in the Hampton Roads area for almost a year now. Virgil is a member of Seven Cities Salsa as well as member of the M.A.D.E Street Team where both organizations play a major role in building the Latin dance community in Hampton Roads. During the day his full time job is a Vascular Technician by day and a DJ by night.
Virgil says what peaked his interest to learn to dance most was the feeling of family with those in the dance community and that his most influential instructor would have to be Marquita Bianca from the MB Academy of Dance Expression (M.A.D.E) because "she shows much patience and understanding of new students to salsa."
What he likes most about dancing salsa in the community is how it is a great way to meet new people. There is always someone new coming out to learn to dance and an opportunity to make new friends.
Virgil's states that his recent trip to the 2008 Flava Invasion in Atlanta, Georgia was his most memorable and favorite place to dance so far. "It really widened my perspective to the salsa dance scene." Virgil's advice to new dancers to the scene: "Don't quit... and just have fun!"
Unknown fact about Virgil: I have a degree in biochemistry..
