Drop-in
Classes calendar
These
types of classes can be found at dance studios as well as
nightclubs. Students can drop in at any time; no commitment of
time is needed. If there is a charge for the event, it is only
for the one-time and not a series of classes.
But this type of class may not be as fulfilling as a regularly
scheduled classes as the student levels are usually different
and the instructor usually has to teach for the majority of the
class.

Workshops
Calendar
These
classes are usually geared towards the not so beginner students.
Workshops are usually held on a monthly, quarterly or yearly
basis, depending on who is promoting it. Single instructors are
known to hold their own weekend workshops, but these will
usually be found promoted by studios or congresses.
Workshops may be classes held during a 2 to 3 hour window or
over a weekend consisting of multiple classes and instructors
teaching things like turn patterns, shines, styling, foot work,
spinning, etc.

Organized Classes Calendar
These
types of classes can be found usually at dance studios with
attendance on a regular schedule ranging from 5 to 10 weeks.
These classes teach steps, techniques, music, leading and
following for the set level. If you feel you have reached a full
understanding of the level, you may wish to advance to the next.
This type of grouping creates a bond between dancers as they are
all on the same level and usually advance with each other. But
this type can also be hard on some people to commit themselves
on a regular basis. |
Private Lessons Instructors
This
type of instruction is a great way to work on specific
techniques or areas that you might need improvement in.
One-on-one with the instructor can be beneficial but also can
become very expensive. |
